Cathedral Square, in the heart of Christchurch, is the very essence of an English city. "The Strip," offering cafes by day and clubs by night, follows the Avon River along Oxford Terrace. Some very fine and affordable hotels are available within one block. Fine dining ranges from Egyptian to Asian/Pacific.

A horse and buggy is a wonderful way to see the Canterbury district.











If you're looking for impressive architecture, don't miss the Canterbury Museum, and Christ's College. The Arts Centre, also amazing, houses cafes, cinemas and the Court Theatre. The Botanic Gardens is a definite must-see, and Hagley Park has a golf course and sports fields, for those so inclined. I highly recommend getting a map from the Visitor's Centre before heading off, as the one-way streets can be a bit confusing.

A wide variety of entertainment is available at the Town Hall, the Convention Centre, and the Christchurch Casino, with nearby specialty shops.

Need a new suit or want to design your own? You can get that here - the city is home to some of the finest tailors in the world. How about a lambskin for your lair? There are some expensive tourist shops close to the Central library, but one can get much better deals in the smaller shops.

Ready for a night out? Tonight the party is in Torremolinos. Torremolinos is an awesome little town on the outskirts of Algeciras (near Gibralter).

Our destination is a club known as the Paladium. It is big, wild, and always hopping! You have your choice of bars to choose from: traditional flamenco mixed with salsa, classic rock, and saucy disco mixed with techno. I hope you have your dancing shoes on, because there's lot of dance floor here, and the party doesn't end until 6:00 am!

Be sure you have enough pesetas for the night. While most places accept American dollars, you will get more bang for your buck if you exchange your money here.
